The silhouetted form of the face and body is hollow cut over black paper with great intricate accents to the hair and collar of the dress painted onto the top paper surface. Inside frame on glass is gold and black eglomise all in a black wood frame. Measures total 4.5" x 5.25". Circa 1830

DOUBLE SILHOUETTE WITH HAIR. Exceptional example of early 19th century English family portraiture. A double ink on paper silhouettes of a son and daughter of the "Earl & Countess of Harewood". Each portrait features gold accents on top of ink images with penciled in ancestry below. Attached to each individual silhouette is a circular tuft of each of the children's real hair. Of course faded to white from passage of time. Framed piece measures 9" x 11.25". Circa 1830 to 1840.

SCHERENSCHNITTE. Great 19th century sample of "Scherenschnitte". Ink on paper then cut out in one piece, with fine detail, an early scene of two standing hunters in full costume with their dogs hunting deer within a towering forest of trees and wildlife. Nice embossing highlights the paper within the branches, the bird's wings, the dog's coat, and grass below. Framed in original wood, it measures 11" x 9".
